It wasn’t long ago that ‘dad’ style came sprinting into current trends. Remember dad trainers? Dad jeans? Even dad blazers and shirts. In the name of Father’s Day, we’ve re-visited the best dad styles from 5 films and recreated them below.
From Eddie Murphy in Daddy Day Care (what a throwback that is) to Ryan Gosling in The Place Beyond The Pines (such a great film), we’ve recreated our favourite dad looks from a few of the films we love.
Let’s start by taking it back to Eddie Murphy in the 2003 film Daddy Day Care (yeah, it’s really been that long!). The stylists did a great job here in giving Eddie a look that’ll last. Camo shorts and a tee? We can do that.
In Crazy Stupid Love, Steve Carell plays the ‘classic dad’, kitted out with a velcro wallet and all! It’s not until Ryan Gosling’s character comes along that Carell gets his cool on.
Speaking of Ryan Gosling, let’s throw it back to this major film. Stunt rider who gets caught in unlawful business to provide for his family, Gosling’s style in this film is rough and ready. If you haven’t seen The Place Beyond The Pines, watch it right now!
One of the saddest (but greatest) films about, Will Smith stars in The Pursuit Of Happyness alongside his son, Jaden Smith. We see him in a suit for the majority of the film, but, if you watch real close, he does bang out a checked shirt look, too.
