With so many shirt options available, how do you possibly narrow down the styles that’ll make your spring/summer wardrobe cut?
We’ve opted for a bit of help from our shirts buying team. Meron and James are here to give us the low down on this season’s shirt highlights and what to look out for when styling them.
What trends are we seeing for shirts in spring/summer?
There’s a huge demand for resort shirts with bold designs on them, as well as the trusty over-shirt. Naturally, co-ords (of shirts and swims) are huge for us, and so much fun, too.
What are the inspirations behind our main lines?
Each month we have a specific trend we design to, which is led by our design team. For March/April it’s about prints and holiday dressing. Fun, bold, lighthearted. May/June is more focused on high-summer wear, and loads of inspirations are sparked from that.
Which styles are your favourites?
We’re all about the two pocket over-shirts and our spring/summer resort revere collar shirts for a bit of added fun.
How should we be styling these shirts?
For the overshirts, we love it worn open over a tucked-in white t-shirt. Wear these with jeans or chinos and a white trainer for a clean look.
A resort shirt always looks best worn with a pair of black denim shorts or blue rip shorts. It’s very summer!
Which shirt was the most complicated to design?
It has to be the two pocket overshirt, as this design is a lot more technical in terms of achieving the right pocket dimensions and the correct wash level. It pays off, though. It’s one of our bestsellers!
We’re packing for a festival. What 3 shirts do we need?
If we had to pick (only) three, it would have to be the Hawaiian printed shirt, the knitted chevron shirt and the overshirt for the evenings. This is subjective though, so pick your favourite print and roll with it. Festivals are for experimenting with style and having fun with your looks.
