Miracle Foods to Help Shift Your Beer Belly

It’s all fun and games in your teenage years; you’ve just turned 18, you’re drinking beer, eating what you like, living the high life, and then one day it happens. Somewhere in your mid-twenties you look down and suddenly think “hey, that wasn’t there before (the belly, we mean). So you get a gym membership – “I go to the gym now, this beer gut will be gone in no time” is the mantra you repeat to yourself as you thunder along on the treadmill. But days become weeks become months, and still the belly remains – staring back up at you as a solemn reminder of your over-indulgence. You’ve tried everything (A.K.A gone to the gym for a bit), you’re ready to give up…but don’t! Try these super fat burning foods and it’ll be dropping off you like you won’t believe.

Nuts
Good old nuts, they’re a great source of protein, they’ll keep you feeling full, and you can snack away on them until your hearts content. Just avoid highly salted varieties and obviously avoid those ones you get in the pub that have a crispy chilli-flavoured coating wrapped around them, they probably aren’t very good for you. Instead opt for almonds, unsalted cashews and anything else like that.

Dairy

Dairy
“Dairy? Are you mad?!” you might say, but bear with us. It might seem counter-intuitive that things like milk and cheese would be good foods for burning fat, but in actual fact the high levels of calcium in dairy products can help to break down body fat and stimulate weight loss. It’s also a great source of protein, zinc and B vitamins, and all that calcium will have the added bonus of keeping your bones strong. So rejoice! And consume an entire block of cathedral city, washed down with a pint of milk…ok, that may be taking it a bit far, don’t do that.

Peanut-Butter

Peanut Butter
Peanut butter is definitely not a fat burning food, so it’s understandable that you might be questioning its place on this list. The thing is though, peanut butter contains a brilliant combination of fibre and protein that will keep you feeling fuller for longer so that you will eat less overall. Don’t overdo it though, ideally you shouldn’t eat more than two tablespoons a day.

Eggs

Eggs
The simple egg is the granddaddy of weight loss foods, it’s crammed full of protein and healthy fats, and it will keep you feeling full up on a pretty small amount of calories. If you start your day off with a couple of eggs rather than say, a bagel, you’ll generally tend to eat less throughout the day.

Lean Red Meat
If you’re a steak lover then your luck’s in. Lean red meats are super high in protein and research has shown that increasing the amount of protein in your daily diet to 20-30% can cut food cravings by about 60%. Also, having a protein rich diet can actually burn an additional 80 to 100 calories a day.
