Return of the Mac
Walk down Savile Row 5 years ago with a colourful waterproof mac over your double breasted blazer and there would’ve been at least 10 coronaries. Nowadays it’s the norm to ditch the archetypal smart trench coat for your favourite casual jacket.
What a Tees
The most common example of gentlemanly values being trampled through the ground: t-shirts with suits. And you know what, it looks great. It might’ve been the attire of choice for a chav contesting his ASBO in a courtroom not so long ago, but now it’s front row worthy.
Simply the Vest
A contrast cord yellow vest with a loose fitting navy pinstripe suit. Frank Sinatra may be spinning in his grave, but we are lapping this look right up, even though it shouldn’t make sense.
The Top Gear Curse
Wearing a smart blazer with jeans became a little bit too Jeremy Clarkson for millennials to continue wearing, but it looks like it’s been taken back here with this Jim Morrison-esque rock ‘n’ roll ensemble, brought together by the jackets wide retro lapels.
London Collections Men ambassador Oliver Cheshire has even turned to dressing down tailoring in this sports influenced outfit, with what should be a roll neck jumper underneath the blazer swapped for a funnel neck track top.
