After a hugely successful first year, TOPMAN is excited to announce its participation in Campaign for Wool’s fashion and education initiative ‘Wool School’ - with His Royal Highness The Prince of Wales as a patron. The Campaign for Wool was launched in 2010 to promote the fine qualities and quintessential British elegance of wool, revolutionising it for a brand new audience.
The initiative works closely with a creative university whose students are briefed to design a wool jumper for their company. This year’s theme is ‘knitwear traditions of the British Isles’.
Out of the many that took part, Kingston University student Trina Outram’s unique jumper design was selected and has been developed, manufactured and is now available in Topman Oxford Circus and online at Topman.com.
‘Once we saw Trina’s design we knew this was the way we wanted to go,’ states Topman Creative Director Gordon Richardson. ‘Out of all of the designs presented to us this ticked the most boxes in terms of our Topman customer and aesthetic. The design itself references both vintage knitwear and modern streetwear with a bold and colourful geometric graphic. We are delighted with the outcome.’
