5th Avenue Launch

Holy Ghost Holy Ghost

After a great build-up, including video interviews with Holy Ghost! and I AM GALLA’s Adam Gallagher, an afternoon with some of our favourite bloggers and a star-studded launch party at Grand Central Station, Topman 5th Ave is now officially open for business! With a queue stretching around the block, the doors were opened by Cara Delevingne and Max Irons, and the day was rounded-off in style with an in-store set by the Holy Ghost! boys themselves. Check out all the highlights below, from red carpet style to exclusive interviews and lots more…

I am Galla interview

We recruited superstar blogger Adam Gallagher of IAMGALLA.COM as a style ambassador for the store opening.

He gave his advice on New York’s hotspots and his predictions for next season’s trends.

If you were doing an I AM GALLA guide to New York, what would be the three things you would recommend your readers to do?

Tough question. My number one would be Top of the Rock, it has the best views of New York and really feels like some kind of dream sequence. I’d put walking the iconic Brooklyn Bridge at number two. My number three is a little less well known – it’s the Highline Park on the West Side, it’s actually a park built on an old elevated freight rail line, so you’re really high above the streets.

Do you have one failsafe style tip?

I know it might sound surprising, but I don’t really think about trends in that way. If I were put on the spot, I’d say that I’d expect to see guys dabbling with colour more often. Pastel colours such as mint were a trend last season, and I think we’ll see more men in pink next season.

What you saying?!

Since we’re moving onto American soil, we decided to catch up with New York’s locals to

see if they could translate British slang. Spoiler: they couldn’t.

Holy Ghost

New York’s favourite electronic duo, Holy Ghost!, discussed the best place to get pizza and their worst style moment.

What's been your worst style disaster?

Hmmm…I (Alex) mean in elementary school I wore my jeans backwards like Kris Kross. That was just not practical. More recently, in terms of a wardrobe malfunction, I have this great pair of jeans I always wear but out of nowhere the fly just stopped staying up right before a show. We were playing at Outsidelands Festival in front of like 30k people and I was thinking about my fly the whole time.

If you were doing a Holy Ghost! guide to New York, what would be your top three recommendations?

Get a pizza from Fornino in Greenpoint or Williamsburg. Go to A1 records in the East Village. Take the Subway.

And walk a lot.

Okay, so the carpet wasn’t actually red, but you get what we mean. Take a look at our most stylish chaps from the

Topman 5th Ave launch party, held in Vanderbilt Hall, Grand Central Station.
