LOOK RICH, SHOP CHEAP:
THE WEDDING SUIT
By Denny Balmaceda
In the third instalment of our wedding series we catch up with blogger and style aficionado Denny Balmaceda in the Personal Shopping suite of our New York 5th Ave store, where he has just one goal in mind – to find his wedding suit.
Bright and early on a Sunday morning, I met at Topman 5th Ave to pick out the suit for my wedding. What I love about the Topman selection is the fact that they have both classic suits, fresh twists on classics and also, really funky stuff. Also, by carrying a range of fits such a slim, skinny and ultra-skinny, you can really experiment with your look just by changing the style.
I began by trying on a black and white glen plaid suit. I liked that it was classic but also a bit of a fun choice for a wedding. I felt really cool in the suit, loved the fit but wanted something a bit more daring.
Next, I tried on a red and blue checked suit. This look was killer. I love the mod and dandy vibe and felt unique. I considered the fact that I may prefer something that was a bit more timeless and so, I decided to tone it down a bit.
My last choice was the royal blue tuxedo. I LOVED this suit. As soon as I put it on, I knew I found a winner. A blue suit can be somewhat traditional but this colour was really bold. I also found that the style was slimming and felt as though it had already been tailored for me. Confident in this look,
I decided on the blue tux as my ceremony suit.
