Four cities. Four guys. Four major trends. We’ve scoured the world (well, our photographer has) to bring you the biggest contemporary street style around, so you can pinch the looks before they arrive in your town and take undue credit for the faux fashion genius you are.

Join us as we travel through Florence, New York, Paris and Copenhagen, analysing style in its natural habitat like a hipster David Attenborough.

Puffer Daddy Puffer Daddy

The ‘90s was a dodgy time for menswear (see parachute pants and shell suits for a horrifying glimpse into the decade), but one of the most salvageable trends that’s been resurrected in NYC has been puffer jackets, which has been picked up by hip hop’s elite such as A$AP Rocky and Drake as well as countless roadmen spitting bars on street corners, kept warm by the puffer’s luscious lining and quilted texture.

Along with millenials adopting a health conscious lifestyle to live longer, they’re also weirdly wearing weather appropriate clothing. So instead of the petty teenage style rebellion of wearing t-shirts in winter and hoodies on holiday, we’re seeing Scandinavians wearing sleek and minimal rainproof gear when it’s actually raining. What’s next, putting sun cream on your skin to avoid serious skin damage? What is this generation coming to*shakes fist in ranting style*!

In The Nude In The Nude

Don’t get too excited, we’re not suggesting everyone goes down the Iggy Pop route and stops wearing shirts. We spotted various nude tones like rusty orange, brown and beige being experimented with in the French capital, mixed and matched together to create ‘70s looking outfits, which works across fashion forward suiting and directional streetwear.

Throwback Tailoring Throwback Tailoring

Yes, in Italy men sometimes wear suits instead of joggers. Shocking we know, but these pictures are evidence that there’s still room among the rise of relaxed streetwear for timeless tailoring. They may look out of place when you’re watching the football in the pub, but when you want to dress to impress a double breasted jacket, some vintage tweed and a workwear blazer will always turn heads in the best possible way.
